The city's art galleries, studios and bronze casting factories attract sculptors from all over the world. There are life-size bronzes throughout the city. Downtown has boutique shops, high-quality antique stores and fine restaurants.
Not far from the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. Loveland is also part of Colorado’s wine country. It hosts two noteworthy wineries.
Valley of the Wind Winery on Railroad Avenue is downtown in the old train depot. This quaint winery and tasting room offers select Colorado wines and specializes in Chardonnay. The winery is open to the public Thursday, Friday and Saturday afternoons and for private tasting parties by appointment. There’s track-side patio dining in the summer. It’s exiting when a train comes through.
Trail Ridge Winery on Route 34 just west of Loveland produces Colorado Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc and Lemberger varietals, plus red and whte blends. Winemaker Tim Merrick has won God Medals for his Lemberger (a dry red) and Chardonnay. The tasting room is open all day every day in the summer, and afternoons in the spring and fall.
