The Baltic beaches of the Fischland-Dar-Zingst peninsula are just as long as its name, and their fine sand and clean water invite you to linger and bathe. But Fischland-Daro-Zingst also has another shore, the "bodden" coast on the side facing the mainland. "Boddens" are shallow coastal inlets of brackish water, interspersed with little islands. This side of Fischland-Daro-Zingst is equally worth visiting, and in fact it lies just a few kilometres from the sandy beaches of the seaward shore.
Everything revolves around nature here, be it among the trees of the primordial Daro Forest, or on board the pleasure steamer "Boltenkieker", which gives passengers a close-up view of the "bodden" coast, or be it the exhibition rooms of the "Daro Ark". The latter is the information centre of the West Pomeranian Bodden Countryside national park, and very much worth a visit. Holidaymakers should also visit the Barnstorf Art Barn, a gallery which focuses on North German artists.
