As early as in 1912, the first celluloid films were shot on celluloid in the Ufa studios in Potsdam-Babelsberg. Screen stars like Marlene Dietrich and Heinz Rohmann started their career within this scenery, as well as master-directors like Fritz Lang and Ernst Lubitsch. During the last years the old cinema town has turned into a highly modern media site...and into a tourist attraction of the truly special kind.
Around here, interested visitors can glance behind the sceneries of the big cinema-world. In addition, an amusement-park with a real touch of Hollywood invites you nearby. We are led through the film sceneries, studios and property-stores by a veritable Babelsberg expert. Atto Suttarp regularly acts in front of the camera for the TV-series Hinter Gittern.
