Looking for a way to get to the western-most part of the continental United States? Try the Strait of Juan de Fuca Highway. This road features 61 miles of coastal, cliffside cruising. Start just outside Port Angeles, and finish in Neah Bay. Idea: Take the new state scenic byway, the Cape Flattery Tribal Scenic Byway, a 12-mile extension from the Strait of Juan de Fuca Highway. This byway crosses the ancestral home of the Makah Indians and offers commanding views of rugged coastline, Tatoosh Island and an abundance of wildlife. Tour the Makah Museum in Neah Bay. The museum features artifacts recovered from a Makah village that was partially buried in a mudslide over 500 years ago, as well as a full-size replica of a long house.
