Traditional Hospitality Suits A Traditional
Wedding Place of Portugal
This spacious manor house is six minutes from
the Atlantic coast's sandy, long beaches; and Portugal's romantic
'wedding town', Obidos, is only a 25 minutes drive away. The picturesque
fishing ports of Nazare and Peniche are also nearby. Their colorful
sights and fine restaurants make these Portuguese villas attractive
travel destinations.
The owner of Portugal's impressive Santa Caterina
manor teaches language at a local school, and enjoys fresh opportunities
to practice with the international travelers she hosts. Guests join
her for breakfast in the dining room and enjoy her guided tour of
the grounds with its mature trees and swimming pool. It is difficult
to believe that this extensive estate is in the middle of the rural
town of Lourinha.
The Santa Caterina proudly displays original 16th
century furnishings, even the beds. Guests have the use of a lounge,
dining room, and music room.
Double room rates this
year June to September are 17,000 escudos per night, including breakfast
for two and all taxes. Rates are discounted from October to May
and for single rooms.
